The Pinto Colt

Look what I can post!
But I can't seem to align text left consistently. The devil's in the details. I shot this little fella while driving back from the hospital to Mama's house in Iowa this July. Cute, isn't he? and almost brand new, from the looks of him.

downladen and uplifted

I'm feeling pretty competent now because I just successfully installed photo software and downloaded my camera. All I have to do is take good photos, and I'm in business.

This is what I saw driving to my sister's house to take care of her cats. I was driving and shooting. Driving and talking on cellphones is outlawed in Albuquerque now; I hope no one reported me for swerving a bit.

Nice stuff, and someone posted almost identical shots on DukeCityFix.com. He/she must have been driving the same route. Glorious skies the other way, too, over the Sandias, but those shots weren't really in focus. I have much to learn, hope my guru is up to the challenge. He said I didn't need any more teaching, but...

better one -- or two

Those of you who've experienced the yearly eye exam, with higher-powered lens each time will recognize that phrase immediately. Well, this is and isn't a test of vision, it's more a test of taste or aesthetics. Which of these sets is better, one or two? (I presume that I have an audience; this may be vainglorious of me, but it doesn't really matter at this point. I don't mind self-talk.)

Love that New Mexican sky -- but do those clouds need grounding? More significant things to ponder...

my heart aches

I have reason to believe that someone I care a lot about is going to distance himself from me deliberately, in an effort to have who he wants without hurting me. There is nothing I can do about this.
Nobody's fault, really. I'm trying to be logical about this, but my feelings keep intruding.

why I go to TrC

I love soaking in the hot spring water there. It's a natural mood-elevator. After being in that hot water for half an hour or more, all the meanness is boiled clean out of me, and I am (temporarily) a nicer, happier and cleaner person -- for a while.

I always find something beautiful or interesting to enjoy.

I have at least one good friend there who is always happy to see me.

Red, red roses arrived early

and they are bee-ute-tee-full! Two dozen, for sharing the joy. (Then they faded in less than three days. What a disappointment!)

I hear that the town of Truth or Consequences has given away its airport, and am waiting to hear more details.

I also heard from Jean, who seems to be happy to be back in Louisiana, even tho her mission is unclear in specifics. Good for her.

If you Blog it, They will come

Not too much to say on this trial post, just want to see if I can put it out there. I like the light on these trees, my favorite time of day, the golden evening, the cowdust hour.
