Views

'cause I got no news. This is the Sandias, from the north side of the sixth floor of the building where I work.

and this is looking west, to the volcanoes.

I'm off tomorrow, hope it's a good weekend for all of us.

Seeking, still not finding

Wishing that I could find some satisfaction in what I've done so far. I am so imperfect, as are many of the things I've done. Still striving for better...

This is the same kind of rose I sent Daddy. The last ones arrived too late for him to see them.

I wish I had done better.

dusk with virga

Virga is a fallstreak of precipitation, never reaching the ground, but evaporating in mid-air. Here's some lovely examples of virga tinged pink by the setting sun, as seen over the Manzano mountains Saturday evening.
Pretty nice, hunh?

Sunrise October 1

I don't catch these on a regular basis, so here's the first sunrise of October.
And here's the second magnolia blossom, from Little Gem in my backyard. I didn't think it would survive, much less bloom, and yes, I know the petals are windbeaten and gnawed by insects, but the fragrance takes me back to Baton Rouge. What a wonder!

the glorious skies of New Mexico

The sun sets earlier now that we're post-Solstice. Here's the golden to peach to rose-coloured sunset of the last day of September.

and it's getting a lot colder, too.

Don't let them fool you

These cats can be dangerous. The one below is Miss Lily. She jumps on cats and other things, and although she seems peaceable enough here, she can get mighty fierce when you try to pick her up. She was found in Grand Chenier and flew back to Albuquerque with an unsuspecting human.

This mighty, mitty guy goes by Angus McMitts. He very nearly has opposable thumbs, and that almost automatically makes him a menace. He is on a diabetic diet, and so is always hungry.
